M. RAY BRADFORD JR. - Counsellor at Law
![]() Estate Planning, Wills, Elder Law and Trusts, Probate There are a lot of good estate planning and probate attorneys in Maine, and their tools are the same. I believe that my first focus is on needs - the needs of people - not just on managing assets. I especially enjoy the challenge of working with people to develop practical, workable solutions for their legal problems. My approach is to listen to people’s concerns, working with their other advisors when appropriate, and then developing flexible options to satisfy those concerns. M. Ray Bradford, Jr. serves as special counsel to Lanham & Blackwell, P.A. He provides services to our clients in the areas of wills, trusts, probate, elder law and estate planning. Mr. Bradford was born in Bangor, Maine. He graduated from Hebron Academy in 1964, Washington & Lee University in 1968, and the George Washington University National Law Center in 1971. He is admitted to practice before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and the United States District Court for the District of Maine. Mr. Bradford began his practice with a Bangor law firm in 1971 and established his own general practice in Bangor in 1978. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Maine State Bar Association (Chair of the Trust & Estate Section in 2001), a member and past president of the Maine Chapter of the International Association of Financial Planners and a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). He is a founding member of the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys and has created over 300 trusts for clients in the last 15 years. Mr. Bradford has achieved an outstanding “BV” Martindale-Hubbell rating because of his exemplary reputation, well-established practice and high professional standing. When not practicing as a lawyer, Mr. Bradford is active in numerous charitable and civic organizations, including Rotary, Eastern Maine Healthcare Board of Directors, and on the Board of the Mount Hope Cemetery. He is a 33rd degree Mason. Mr. Bradford resides in Bangor with his wife Marlo. They have three adult children, Ryan, Abigail and Andrew. | |
