Legal representation provided by our attorneys is done on hourly, flat-fee, or, in some cases, a contingent fee basis.

Personal injury and product defect cases are typically done on a “contingent fee” basis. The actual fee for legal representation is an agreed-upon percentage of the amount we recover on your behalf. If we don’t recover a judgment or negotiated settlement on your behalf, you don’t pay legal fees.

In matters that do not involve a contingent fee arrangement, during the initial consultation a specific fee or hourly rate will be discussed so you will know exactly how your fee for services will be calculated before you incur any obligation.

Hourly fees are determined on the basis of:

The nature of the legal work being undertaken on behalf of the client;
The estimated time involved in completing the representation; and
The complexity of the legal and factual issues involved.

For some types of legal services, a flat fee for services is appropriate. These may include residential title closings, incorporating a business, simple will packages (Joint reciprocal wills, a power of attorney and an advance health care directive), and most criminal defense, traffic and OUI cases. Flat fees for legal services do not generally include filing fees, service fees, recording fees, travel costs, or court costs. These costs are paid by the client in addition to the fees for legal services. An estimate of these costs is available on request.

All initial consultations are with attorneys in the firm. There is no charge for initial consultations for personal injury claims, most criminal cases and product defect cases. If there is a charge for an initial consultation, you will be advised of that obligation prior to incurring the obligation to pay. We accept payment by Visa and Mastercard.
